This $5.5 million project was completed in 2014 for new permanent supportive housing in the city of Springfield. Mulberry Terrace consists of 34 new housing units constructed on existing urban lots. A new apartment building houses 26 units for individuals and includes a lobby, community room, kitchen, food pantry, and two handicap accessible apartments. Some exterior features include brick, an urban storefront glass main level, and Chicago Style windows on the street with balconies looking towards the park. Four double houses, built on vacant lots throughout the city, are approximately 2400 square feet each containing two 1200 square foot units. The unique design fits with the surrounding architecture using similar construction and fenestration methods. Each unit includes 3 bedrooms and all the basic amenities including laundry, air conditioning, storage, dishwasher, and two bathrooms.
