PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Pocket Park design is a conceptual exercise to provide a solution for empty lots in an urban setting. The Pocket Park renderings depict a public gathering space next to the Bushnell Building in downtown Springfield. The design includes a garden with covered atrium and outdoor dining area, ideal for picnics. Conceptualized as filling the “missing tooth” in a row of buildings where one had been demolished, Pocket Park provides a opportunity to renew the urban fabric of downtown areas and provide a welcoming space to gather and relax among the commotion of the center of the city.
