Masonry Restoration for Dayton Metroplitan Housing Authority

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Craig E. Dillon, AIA Architects worked with the Dayton Metropolitan Housing Authority to repair damages to three buildings in a housing complex.  The project was funded by federal money provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  It included masonry restoration to damaged brick and provided a new parking lot to better manage storm water.  A swale was built to collect storm water and guide it offsite away from the buildings.  Water from the previous parking lot had damaged one of the apartment units.  After redesigning the parking lot to eliminate the problem of storm water, the walls and foundation of the damaged apartment were repaired.  This project worked to restore elements of the site and buildings that had been damaged by storm water and redesigned the site to completely eliminate the issue and prevent it from reoccurring.
