Cole Manor Senior Apartments Interior Renovations

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Renovating Cole Manor Senior Apartments was one of the most in depth projects completed by Springfield Metropolitan Housing Authority and Craig E. Dillon, AIA Architects.  The goal of the renovation was to update and modernize the public spaces of Cole Manor, while establishing a comfortable, residential atmosphere that is ADA accessible.  A complete overhaul was given to the lounge, elevator lobby, library, manager’s office, corridor, and community room.  Walk-off carpet was installed in the entrance vestibules to catch dirt and keep the rest of the building cleaner.  Over a two year period, almost every aspect of the public spaces inside Cole Manor Senior Apartments were significantly upgraded.  Not only did this renovation enhance the appearance of Cole Manor, it also showed the residents that SMHA strives to accommodate their needs.  The materials selected for the project were cost effective, beautiful, and durable.  They can stand up to heavy use and vandalism, are easy to maintain, and will not need to be replaced any time soon.  Not only will the materials last a long time, but with such an elegant and timeless décor, this renovation will not go out of style.
